Our Main objectives are to :
  • Promote the use of veneers coming sustainable managed forest.
  • Inform the end users about and how to use real wood products.
  • Emphasize the recognition of its members worldwide.

The French national production of sliced veneers represents 30 millions m2.

  • 17 millions m2 : Oak
  • 9 millions m2 : Beech ( white and steamed )
  • 4 millions m2 : Others species :
    Ash,
    Chestnut
    Maple,
    Sycamore,
    Cherry,
    Walnut,
    Alder,
    Lime,
    Plane tree,
    Pine...



The French Forest :
Major forest of Western Europe, French forests cover more than 15 millions ha and represent a standing wood volume of 2 billion m3. 128 different species are available in France.
French forests increase their standing wood volume by 88 million m3 every year.
Hardwoods account for two thirds of the total forest harvested.



Sustainable forest management
In 1827 France set up a controlled forest management system. Drawing from experience, France initiated the PECF certification scheme (Programme of Endorsement of Forest Certification Scheme) which guarantees resource renewal.
During the last 50 years, French forests have increased by 35 % while at the same time maintaining their biological diversity.
